William So
Mr. So graduated from Imperial College London in 1981 with a degree in Computing Science. He started his career with IBM and moved to Lenovo in 1992 to become the General Manager of their Central European Business based in Austria. Mr. So began his career in telecom since 1996 when he moved to China as Chief executive of a satellite telecom operator. During his 10 years with China Netcom (Later China Unicom) from 2000, he has held several senior executive roles including running China Unicom’s African. Middle East and European business from the UK, Chairman of the board of several overseas subsidiaries and President of overseas operations.
Mr. So is an influential figure in the industry. Amongst many things, he is the creator of a terrestrial optical fibre cable link between Europe and Asia, providing a more reliable and cost effective alternative to submarine cables. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences, radio and TV and ran case studies at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
Issah Abdulai Afugu
Mr. Issah Afugu currently helms U-ton Engineering Limited and Zeiss Engineering Incorporated as CEO, dealing with over 200 members of the workforce. He holds an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business and an Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Mr. Afugu brings over 12 years of field and management experience to the business. He possesses a strong business and leadership record as CEO and has a deep understanding of the consumer and business landscape in the African region. Under his leadership, U-ton Engineering has been recognized as a leading company in the Telecom services sector in Ghana.
His rich experience in deployment and maintenance of FTTx/FTTH/FTTB/FTTP is evident in the key role he has played in the modeling of FTTH business in the Ghanaian market.
He has overseen the execution of several massive Telecoms infrastructure Projects and has vast experience in the development and management of large tech-based businesses with footprints across the African sub-region.
